Jdm B18c replacement into 01 GSR swap question
I just want clarification on swapping a JDM sir G b18c into my 01 Gsr.
I have a complete longblock with distributor, alt, manifold, etc... I have the Usdm sensors to replace on the jdm manifold, Now my question is can I just throw this baby in and have no problems with the USDM p72 gsr ecu reading? or will I need to perform the CKF trick? ALSO do I have to use the USdm vtec solenoid and distributor? or can I use what came complete from japan? I dont want to throw any codes since it needs to pass a NYS inspection for registration renewal.. Thanks boys

It is OBD2b btw
I found some some useful info http://hondaswap.com/swap-articles/e...s-101-a-29052/
and the CKF trick...only for jdm engines in usdm vehicles correct? http://www.scribd.com/doc/2547345/Ho...F-Bypass-Trick

the ckf trick is for any motor that doesn't have the sensor on the oil pump.
just have to swap over everything that is obd2 specific, like alternator, distributor, intake manifold (for the evap parts). throttle body is a maybe, i would just to remove the fast idle valve.

okayy so the jdm engine that I just recieved doesnt come with that sensor, so a trick to the usdm ecu makes it think its there. Great.. so I would be able to leave the jdm distributor n manifold on as long as I swap all necessary sensors. I just wonder why I heard the jdm vtec solenoid is not usable with the usdm ecu without throwing codes.

Thanks man, Im going to repost my results for those ppl who are experiencing similar situations.
Im sure a lot of you out there have heard of this site but im going to post it again, this dude Katman has all sorts of great useful information relating to Ecu and wiring schematics for the CKF and other ****.
This article describes how to trick a U.S. OBD2a/b (96-01) Civic & Integra ecu into thinking a CKF sensor is wired in when there actually is no CKF sensor available. This trick is aimed to help hybriders who are using a U.S. OBD2a/b ecu in their vehicle (for whatever reasons) to power their engine – yet their motor is lacking a CKF sensor. For the unknowing – when using a U.S. OBD2 ecu & the CKF sensor is not wired in, the engine will run like total crap not to mention you’ll get a nasty CEL (code 54). This trick basically taps the CKF into the CKP and shares the signal. This bypass trick will save you time, money (around $300), and severe headaches!

jdm vtec solenoid isnt usable because it doesn't have a vtec pressure switch. u would either have to drill and tap one or switch it for a usdm solenoid that has a switch
