J32A2 Swap Tach/Speedo Question
I have a 94 Integra with a J32A2 6MT and my question is about the tachometer and speedometer. I know that the gauge cluster will not be accurate, but is it both the tach and the speedo, or just one that's wrong? What are people using to correct it?
I've looked at the healtech-automotive speedo-healer and the Dakota Digital SGI-5E, and it seems like it'd be easy to wire up, but it appears that it's only for the speedometer, not the tach. Dakota Digital also makes a tachometer signal interface, but I don't know if it's necessary. If so, does this mean I need both? Thanks in advance for any help you all can provide! |

Man... Nobody? I guess I'll have to wait until I'm driving it to figure this out.

Re: J32A2 Swap Tach/Speedo Question
Both the speedometer and tachometer are going to register incorrectly. I got both (tach and speedo) of those units from Dakota Digital. The speedometer will register wrong because of the wheels. I had a scanner hooked up to mine, and it was seeing the same speed as what my speedometer indicated. The tachometer will be wrong because the output pulse from the J-series is just slap different. Both the SGI-8E (tach) and the SGI-5E (speedo) worked in my EK. |
