ITR muffler on 92/95 hatch ?
I have a custom 2.5 catback, welded to a N1 muffler.
Would an ITR muffler fit thru the suspension as is, or would I need to cut and reweld the piping on the muffler ?
Thanks

Re: ITR muffler on 92/95 hatch ? (w00t!)
My friend got a stock 2000 GSR muffler on his EG with 2.25" piping back... He's only got a D16Z6 w/squeeze so it's nothing special.... It fits but is kinda tight... The can on the DC muffler is a little longer than we would need for an EG so we just cut the tip down a bit... Good Luck

yes you do need to cut the piping and modify it, just to even try to get it to fit.
but the muffler can itself is a little too big. so if you have a rear sway bar set-up. such as in my case it will not fit. just get a oval es or flowmaster that ll fit. it will give you less headaches in the end. if you want stock just find 92-95 si muffler.

Would it work if I had the stock flange relocated ? (Haven't been able to compare up close as yet)

Yea our flange had to be moved closer in to the muffler itself.. My friend has a GSR in his EK with a DC 4-1 header, stock catalytic, and 2.25" piping back to his stock DC muffler... It is pretty restrictive but it is so nice to ride in his car... Sounds like a stock DX when it's idling... No other mufflers will sound like stock... Atleast none that i have come across... For the best results i wouldn't go any bigger than 2.25" and I would also stick with a stock catalytic.... Otherwise it will still hallow out and people will know you gotta motor... If you still want a stock muffler i would just buy an EG Si muffler.... I never thought about this but what does the factory JDM EG6 use?? The Si should work fine tho... It's mean't to handle more flow than my friend's EK DX muffler... Good Luck

Well I just dropped a GSR in my friend's car the other day... He and I both have the same taste and we hate mufflers... If it's stock that's cool cuz it's nice and quiet but no other muffler sounds like stock... He's got a JDM ITR header on it and we just piped it straight off the header with 2.5" piping... It's a basically stock motor only having a CTR intake cam... 2.5 works fine for him tho

I had the itr muffler on my eg coupe. it is a direct fit (tip is kinda short though) and that's with the st rear sway bar. I never had any problems.

Borla makes some pretty nice motor. That's what my Brother had on his and you could literally see through it, I didn't think it was too loud and that was when we had it installed pretty much right off from the header. It sounded real good, I am going to do a custon exhaust with the Borla Muffler

I'm pretty sure it won't but i'm not positive... Even the difference between an EK b-pipe and an EG's is a lot... Atleast enough to make it not fit..
