Possible?? Im pretty sure someone's tried or has successfully done it.

If I have to drill... so be it. Im just more worried aobut the water coolant passage not lining up. Wish I had the stuff lying around so I can test... but I dont

I did it on my first GSR motor. I bought a brand new Type-R manifold and had a good welding shop weld on a piece of aluminum stock on where the coolant passage is for the heater. Filed the hole so that coolant could flow from the head to the hose fitting. Then I had a machine shop resurface the manifold. Used the Type-R gasket for a template and drilled the holes I needed to get the manifold to bolt up to the head. I forget now which holes lined up, top or bottom. This was in '99 and I had not heard of the Skunk2 manifold at that time.

you can just cut the flange from the gsr IM and weld it to the itr IM..... that's how they use to do it....

He can't use aftermarket stuff in the class he is running, so Skunk2 is out.

OEM ITR looks way cleaner.... The SK2 looks cheap.... Just my opinion... but you will have to do the modifications that b19coupe said to to run the ITR intake manifold on the P72 head...

Doh! I totally missed that.

The only way I've seen/heard of people doing it is by chopping the plate that mates with the head off of each intake manifold and welding the GSR plate to the ITR manifold. Sorry, cant offer much help.

Yeah, I'm really curious about Erick's intake manifold myself.
