Installing cruise in a car not so equipped.. What to buy?
In my 96 hatchback, I have a 2000 Si dash electric harness, which includes the 4 wire brake/3 wire clutch switches, along with the cruise 'brain' and underhood vacuum diafragm and cable assembly. My issue now is where can I hook that extra cable by the gas pedal to? I ordered the bracket from Honda, but it looks like I will need the entire gas pedal assy from a cruise car?
Cliff notes:
I have all switches, buttons, etc that i need for cruise, just have to hook the extra cable up to the gas pedal...

Correct, you need the cruise control pedal assembly. I cant imagine it would cost that much from any junk yard. Installing it is kind of a bitch but since you're going to have to pull the dash off anyway to install the harness it should'nt be a problem.
Good luck!

Did you have to make any custom harnesses? Mainly the one by the OBD sensor that leads to the back of the car.

I did the same thing, but the connector (c401) from the si wiring harness has 20 connectors while the 96-97 hatch wiring harness (c401) had 14 wires. The plug won't fit in other words. I rewired the 14 plug with the wires from the 20 plug, but I have yet to test it. I guess I was looking for encouragement.
Also, the harness that leads to the headlights in the engine bay has 6 wires on cruise control equipped cars, but only 2 for cars without. I had to splice the headlight, and turn signal wires. Hope your car was initially equipped with cruise control or you might be doing some cutting. Or you could just rewire the front of the car.

oh, sorry man, I have no clue.. The previous owner rewired the car. For all I know, he used 99-00 wiring throughout.. Good luck though! I'm sure yours works. (did that help?)

Ok, I'm having a bit of difficulty seeing what I need to get. I checked http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and BOTH the cruise equipped and non-cruise equipped gas pedals are the same part number? There's an extra bracket that I need, so I bought it.. Hmm, nowhere to put it? Do I need the part the pedal attaches to, or what? I'm lost! I don't want to get the wrong part...... http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...catcgry5=PEDAL That's the Civic Hatch sans cruise, and
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...catcgry5=PEDAL That's the 4 dr LX with cruise.. I bought the #5 bracket listed, but there's no place to mount it on my setup now. It's got the slot for the cruise, but nowhere to mount! HELP?!
