Default Import Life shop in So cali

Any of you guys heard of Import Life in so cal? I'm gonna be goin there for my swap, and want to see if any of you guys have had any experiences with this shop? They seemed really popular on jdmcivic.com, but haven't heard anything about them on this forum.

Overall they seem REALLY REALLY GOOD

they are located in long beach. They are charging me 4500 for a usdm b18c1 swap complete with auto to manual tranny swap into my 1997 civic hx. The only holdback is that they are trying to locate an engine right now.

i think it's pretty fair considering the auto-manual conversion.

prospeed wanted 5200 for the same thing. Autolink wanted 4800 for the same thing.

yeah, but at autolink or prospeed, you know they've been doing this for a while.

how much is your peace of mind worth, in the mid-to-long run?

i own a 97 dx. my swap with appropriate mounts, axles, shift linkage, and 19,000 miles!! on the motor was $2000. Quality turbo kit pieced together.... $2000. $150 for custom exhaust. $350 to let me use the guys shop and tools(i installed swap, turbo, and new suspension) and his help here and there. thats $4500 and when its tuned at 11psi it will be close to 300whp. just somthing to think about.

i agree. people gravitate towards that which they know, and away from that which is unfamiliar. maybe you guys can post up some work you've done in your shop? show us what you've got?

Import Life swaped a poor man's type R (b18c block/b16a head) into my buddies EF about two years ago. We have nothing but good things to say about them. We were in-n-outta there in about 6 hours.......he then drove it back to AZ with no problems what-so-ever. By the way, where are you guys located now? Back then you guys were up around Rancho Santa Fe I think.....some where up there.
