ok so i got decently lucky except it happening, i went to hop in car to head out, started it, everything was perfect let it run some didnt sound odd or anything, went to back out and it just went dead, everything in car was still on just motor died like i shut it off, i still smell gas when i try to start it but it doesnt try so, im thinking dizzy maybe? has a b18b1 swap with b20 head, dizzy would still be for a b18b1 right? just kinda weird that there was no warning just dead...i need to pull a plug and check fire

oh and the car is a 96 civic ex, not sure if that helps, check engine light is on but its always been on due to no o2 sensors being hooked up, just hanging b/c of no plugs for them

Ok so no fire...I even grabbed plug and nothing, looked at cap and rotor bug and looks clean so other then the distrib itself I'm stumped, I just don't wanna spend 260 an take a chance of that not fixing it

Did you ever fix this issue? If not, be sure to check your primary ignition coil. The windings inside of it could be bad.
