im buying a b16a2 for 800 bucks with tranny Is it worth it ???
ok like i said above my only question is A: its not in a car so i cant test it out ... i was wondering if there is anythign i can look at to tell if the motor is in working order B: the guy said he had it on the bottle and it "didn't pull hard enough for him" so he got a b18c5.... would this be one of those situations that i would think hmmm just buy and rebuild or in that case bullet proof.... and last but not least
Since i had and auto in my car originally before i put in the ls that i have now ... do i have to get new mounts or will the mounts that i have now bolt up to the b16 ??? sorry for the stupid questions but i just wanted to know
Thanks

Well I am assuming you are talking about putting this into a CRX. If that is the case you will need to add vtec wiring and if you decide to do obd1/2 you will need to do that wiring too.
You can ask to drain the oil if it hasn't been done yet and look for metal shavings.
You can ask him to take off the head or look in the intake/exhaust ports for anything unusual. Take off the valve cover or pull spark plugs.
Make sure its the Si tranny, which you won't be able to use without a cable-hydro kit. But can turn around and sell
But overall good deal

Agree. When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is too good to be true. Especially when everyone is trying to get back every dollar that they bought there engine for.

Well, since u sound dead set on getting this. Drop the oil pan and take a look inside. Turn the crank and listen for scraping or a loose metal sound. And do what vtecn8ive siad.
I encourage you to do this. I just bought a complete h22a4 swap for 2200. I was told it had type s head and internals. Well, it doesn't and the block is ticking on top of it. Now I have to replace the rod and main bearings. And since the head is off, I am gonna be replacing the rings. Think about it.
