Did you do anything else other than add a 2-wire IACV and do the re-wire job? Like...change the ECU?

yep. changed ecu twice. (obd2 ls 5spd) and the wires are done right at the ecu too.

If having the IACV connected made it idle at 3-4k and disconnecting it 'fixes' that, then maybe your wiring isn't right. Can you describe what steps you took to re-wire things?

Are you using a conversion harness or does this OBD2 LS ECU plug directly into your main harness?

civic / integra obd2a ecu plugs are the same and have the same pinouts. at the ecu i un pinned 13 and moved 14 to 12 like shown here and checked and re checked

We'll assume your wiring is right.

Does the idle stick at 3-4k whether the engine is cold or hot?

If it doesn't stick when hot, does it bounce around when hot?

What does the idle settle to when you unplug the IACV? On a hot engine, it should come down to the neighborhood of 500rpms or so (note: not every Honda/Acura share the same base idle speed - just throwing this figure out to show that the idle needs to be low enough for the IACV to do its job).

Is your throttle plate sticking open?

Have you played with either the throttle stop screw or the idle air bypass screw?

Off-topic: Is your screen name in reference to a voltage regulator?

Default

unpluged cold it bounces around 1000-1500rpms

iacv plugged in, cold, car starts goes up to 4k then bounces between 1500-2200 rpms

never plugged it in while it was warm sence i did this wiring...

i havent messed with the screws but its a good guess to say the previous owner might have to get the idle right if the sensors were wired wrong

my throttle plate seem ok

my screen name is random - easy to enter/remember

It sounds like your base idle might be set a little high. Need to make sure the TPS is set correctly too.

It's a potentiometer. If the throttle plate stop screw was touched, this changed the TPS output (this was set at the factory). You can also slot the screws that hold it in with a Dremel and then use a flathead to loosen and rotate. But that's a last ditch effort, IMO. It didn't need to be done at the factory that way, so something else is probably causing the problem.

figured it out. previous owner put the wrong throttle body on there, it had a FITV and i guess only obd1 and obd2 automatics have it.. somthing like that.
