IAC valve-Which one for B16A2 with ITR intake manifold?
My car isn't really a hybrid, but I figured this would be the best place to ask this question. I have a B16A2 with an ITR intake manifold. My idle has been higher recently. Tonight it was difficult to drive home and bucking really bad. (40 degree temps) I managed to make it home and got code 14. Some people say to clean it out, but I'd rather just buy a new one. Should I buy an Acura ITR one or one for my Civic Si? Thanks for the help!

Get ahold of Honda or Acura and have them reference the part numbers to see if they are interchangeable. If they aren't then go for the type r one since u are using the itr IM. Hope this helps ya.

what IACV did you use on the ITR manifold when you did the change ?
normally a B16A2 IACV would NOT fit on an ITR I/M, cuz the mounting holes are too far spread apart.

The shop that installed my ITR intake manifold didn't tell me if they used the stock one or not. They do a lot of engine swaps and possibly used one off of an engine that was around the shop. Come to think of it, I did have some idle problems in the summertime and maybe the one they gave me was bad. The RPMs would drop really low when I'd come to a stop and almost die.
Now that the weather is cold, the idle is high and twice I had a severe on/off throttle bucking problem which was solved by resetting the ECU. It was code 14, by the way. I've been told that this can be because of a vacuum leak (unlikely because my Defi boost gauge is normally showing a steady 20-22), throttle body leak, or the IACV. Someone mentioned that even if there's a pinhole leak at the throttle body, the idle will surge, but it's not surging. The idle is high, but doesn't really go crazy until the code pops up. BTW, both times the weather was about 40 degrees and I had been driving the car for a while.
Another strange thing that happens is when I take the key out of the ignition to let the turbo timer count down, the idle will sometimes go under 1000 rpms. Normally at idle it's about 1300-1400 rpms.
I can get a brand new ITR IACV for about $150, but it has to be ordered. I'm going to try cleaning the one I have tomorrow, but most people don't have luck doing this.
It never fails, as soon as I'm ready to get my car tuned, **** like this happens!
