Default I want to make my B16 a 1.8. What crank can I use and what do I have to modify.

I want to make my b16 a 1.8. Can I use a GSR crank. I heard it wont work because It needs a block girdle. Any one with experience please help me out thanx. B16CRXhybrid@aol.com

It would probably be cheaper to either have your block sleeved and bored to 1.8L, or just buy a B18C block straight out, they go for about a grand.

Yeah, but i cant have it sleeved and bored, because Im looking to put Civic typer pistons and rods in. Thats why I want to know if a gsr crank will work.

i'd say you should look into getting it sleeved, as this will insure you more that it won't blow on you..when you sleeve and bore, you are increasing the bore size thus giving more displacement..just find pistons that are 84.5mm that have the same c/r as ctr pistons or something higher..puttin the gsr crank in a b16 will cost you more than this, as you will need custom rods done, etc, etc..

The B18c cranks won't work in the B16 block.

Get the B18c block and use the CTR pistons. nuff said.
