It is a 96 civic hatch that was an auto now a manual. have ab16a2 out of a 99 Si and have both harness and ecu's. Just need to know how to wire up and hopefully with any codes. your help would be great.

the Dx harness has 5 plugs from it and the Si only has three, plus the two differant cars are wired differant. I would like to know how to wire it up without getting any trouble codes.

The easiest and safest way to do this swap would be to use a OBD 2 Del Sol Vtec harness and computer. Your SI computer won't work with the swap as you are different OBDs..as well as the Si harness. No real easy way around this.
Cheap way would be to get a 96-98 Ex computer and use your stock harness. That would work. But you'd be running a crappy computer and you'd be slow.
Just my $.02

You know how to re-pin stuff? You're going to have to go pin by pin in order for that Si computer to work with your car. Or, you can buy a OBD 2 - OBD 2 v.2 jumper. That's the only way that it's going to work.
You have a LOT of work ahead of you if you plan on making the car run with what you have.

Repining...that is the easy part
You will have a VERY HARD time getting the Si harness to work in any 96-98 Civic. You would be best off using your original harness, and adding knock sensor, and VTEC wires to it. I have a 99 b16a2 in my 97 Hx....I thought for hours and hours how I could get the motor to work in my car with the 99 Si harness. It may be possible, but alot of wiring is involved....electrican status may be necessary. Easiest route is to use a 96-98 Ex harness(plug n' play except extending a few wires)....you could use the harness the guy said before, but I doubt you can find one of those easily.
Do you have the helms manual for your civic? Just buy one for a 2000 Si and it will cover every civic fromo 96-00. You will have to get one if you want to use the Si harness in your car...there is just too much to explain without it.
Now you say the Dx pulls out with 5 connectors? It should pull with 3 ECU connectors....I assume the other 2 you are talking about are from the green harness?
When I was looking into this I noticed after pulling the Si engine, one ECU connector, and green connector stayed in the car. ****!
As you can see in the 99 Si ECU connector A remains in the car, while plugs B and C pull out. Also the green wire harness doesn't pull out completly. The wierd thing about the green harness is that many of its wires feed into the ECU plug A...and you can see that means those wires are already in the engine harness...making you job a little easier.
Damn, thinking about this...I can't really write what you have to do....it is hard to even think about. But the green wireharness, and ECU connector A are the keys to solving this puzzle....and lots of time.
Easier fix....pull Si wiring harness, buy 96-98 Harness....get OBD2 to OBD1 conversion, and use a P28 ECU reprogrammed with a P30 program, or get a P30 ECU if you can find one!
