Default I need help in deciding which flywheel to get?? 7.5lbs v.s. 12.5 lbs??

ok, i have a 95 us b18c1 in a 92 CX hb and i already have a CM 3 clutch and was wondering which flywheel to go with it. I've heard a lot of people saying that you need a strong engine in order to go with the 7-8 lb flywheel because you'll just be bogging out if its not strong enough, but then it seems like eveyone on this forum is running the 7-8.5 lb flywheels? Right now i just have a I/H/E and reprogrammed ecu. which flywheel should i go with? The 7-8.5 lb flywheel sounds good to me, but i don't wanna be bogging out so i'm thinking about 12.5 lb flywheel. lmk. Thanks

depends on what you're building the motor for, the lighter flywheels are intended more for road race and auto cross where you need to make your way through the revs quickly both ways, whereas the drag guys like a little more inertia on their side the 12 lb fly does not drop as many rev's when shifting.

daily drivers and superlight flywheels dont mix. mmm traffic and red lights, you wont have the inertia to creep forward.

ain't it the truth, i've got a 7.5 and if i try to let the clutch out a little to inch ahead it dies.

That's your clutch, it has nothing to do with the weight of your flywheel. Learn to drive with an aftermarket clutch and you won't have that problem.

Do you actually have one in your car? I've driven many cars with 7.5 to 8 pound flywheels and never experienced the problems you claim.

true, i do have an ACT that i am getting used to but the flywheel conttributes, like when i roll to a stop from 2nd and go staight to neautral the rpms drop quick and the engine dies, where any of my friends stock swapped cars would just drop rpm and bounce back to idle. not unmanageable by any means, just takes some getting used to. nice throttle response.
