Default I got a tough one

Car: 91 civic STD
Engine: 90 b16a1 head/91 b18a1 block, dual-point to multipoint wiring conversion, pw0 ecu.

I've been ******* with this thing for a month, the engine has to crank about 8-10 to start, then when it starts it revs to 1500 and then dies. After a couple of crank-start-dies, it will then hold an idle, whell if you can call 1500 down to 500 then back up to 1500 again an idle. If i put it in gear and tip in, goose, the throttle it starts to hesitate its *** off. there are no cel codes, it pulls about 16 in. hg., but when i introduce a little propane to the throttle body the vacuum goes up to 20/21 in.hg. The fuel pressure is 50 psi with the vacuum hose disconnected. Compression is 210, 210, 180 (machine shop overbored leaving me with .002 out of service limit on the ring gap) 210. Timing as far as I know is as good as it gets without putting on adjustables, the car once it starts can be shut of and started again on the first crank If you guys have any ideas drop a line pleeeease. I've tried every thing except pulling the head.

I'm going to tow it to a guy that does engine swaps in my area fri (7/17). I took the head off and the combustion chambers were black and the piston tops were, for the most part, clean. Put it all back together and the car still sucks.

First thing, check all your vacuum lines and make sure that there are no leaks and everything is routed correctly. Secondly, your fuel pressure is a bit high. I'd drop it down to about 43-45psi. I'm assuming all your plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor are new. I'd also re-check your timing to be sure that it's close to spec.
