i got a D16 Ecu with my 95 Ls Engine, will it work?
the guy at the shop told me that the car that the engine came out of had the ECU stolen out of it, and he gave me a Vtec D16 ecu.. he says it will work but i'm going to have a Cel.. the engine is going in tomorrow, will it run normally without hurting anything with that ecu? they said that they can get me an actual one eventually..
so what is the difference?? fuel maps? i know the Vtech stuff won't be working, what about the 4 wire o2?

VTEC, vtecH is a PHONE.
the only diffrences will be fuel maps and vtec related items. it probably will run fine on the Ls ecu.

Yeah, you can do it. I wouldn't run it like that for the long term because its going to run a little lean.

You will have a few CEL's

The motor you are using is a DOHC nonVTEC but the ECU is from a SOHC VTEC, that's the main difference. The 4 wire O2 setup is used for both the Z6 and the LS motors. As mentioned, the car will run lean and have a few CEL's. If you need to use it to get from the garage to your house or something then that would be ok. I would keep the drive as short as possible and get a 94-95 LS ECU asap!

thanks for all the feedback.. the engine is in, wasn't too bad of a project, broke some breaker bars.. 2" gap in the exaust, open header, runs crappy.. the MAP sensor on my d15 was located on the firewall with a vacum line attached to the throttle body, the ls engine has the sensor located directly on the throttle body... so i have 2 map sensors, the one on the firewall isn't hooked to anything, but is still plugged in... so i have 2 sensors plugged in.. which one is the computer going to look for? do i need to put the plug that is at the firewall on the sensor that is on the throttle body??
thanks

Both of the MAP sensors serve the same function and the ECU will only look for one so you need to plug in the one of your choice. The best thing to do is to unplug the harness plug going to the one on the firewall and plug it into the one on the throttle body of the new motor. You can also use the one on the firewall - either or. If you use the one on the firewall you need to remove the one on the throttle body and send the vacuum line from the firewall MAP to the hole where the MAP mounted on the throttle body.
