hybrid transmission gearing
hey everyone, i have been trying to research some info on hybriding your tranny gears, but have had no luck finding the nitty gritty data of it all. what i am trying to figure out is it is possible to mix and match gears from various trannies and making it work. i currently have a 90-91 usdm cable LS tranny (i dont know if it is a S1/J1 or whatever).... i would like to swap first through fourth gears from a gsr into my LS tranny casing and keeping the LS fifth gear and final drive. is this subject like all the other B-series components where we can put it all together like legos?!?! thanks....

Re: hybrid transmission gearing (macroresin)
yeah, it is possible to mix and match b series gears. i have talked to several people who have ls fifth in a jdm tranny, but i am not sure about the specifics though. your ls tranny would be a ys1. would it not be easier to put the ls fifth in a gsr tranny though? also, i would not use the ls final because it would make all the gears taller which would seem to me to defeat the purpose of having the gsr tranny in the first place. here is a site for the specific ratioshttp://tiiite.b16a.com/Bgears.htm. i dont think it as easy as legos, but here is a site to look at http://hybrid2.honda-perf.org/tech/zcsifdswap.html. I know it is not a b series but it may give you an idea of what is involved.
