hybrid exhaust question
I currently own a stock 2000 civic dx cpe. If I were to do a usdm b18c1 swap from the same year (2000 gsr), my understanding is that I am to use the exhaust system made for the chassis; however, there will be a gap from the header.
I searched and found that on a 93 civic you can put a b16 header (aftermarket I presume?) on it and that would get rid of the gap. Would this fall true in my situation as well? If so, then can the the header be one designed for the 2000 si? If not, which header would work, if any?
I live in California so I don't think the test pipe would work. I would like to keep the car legal. What is the solution to this problem?
Btw, I like the Apexi N1's and Skunk2's. So any information towards these exhaust systems would be much obliged.
Thank you in advance for your replies.
Terribly sorry for the redudancy; I'm fairly mechanically declined. I'm learning as much as I can about the swap, and my car in general, before I actually commit to it.
Again, thank you for your replies.

Re: hybrid exhaust question (up)
Depends on where your cat is. If it is in the header, right after the exhaust ports, when you swap in a B and use a B header, there will be no gap, but you won't have room for a cat.
So, basically, the headers all end in the same place, it depends on the model and where the cat is inline, to determine where the B pipe on the exhaust ends. Hence why when you buy a cat back, they usually specify trim level.
