Hybrid CRX axle question
Need help from the swap pros. I searched, and couldnt find any definative info. I am planning on buying a Y1 tranny, i currently have an S1 tranny (in my CRX with B16a) and i have 90-93 integra axles. I need to know if you can use these axles with the Y1 or if you would need different axles, cause someone mentioned to me that i might not be able to use my current axles if i switch to a Y1. Any info or clarification on this would be great.
PS part of my confusion is from the hasport site that sells different EF axles for the Y1 then the ones that are used for the J1/S1/Ys1, so i was wondering if the shafts in the Y1 are different then all other B cable trannys which would lead to my integra axles not working.

Same ****. Just reuse the existing axles & intermediate shaft that's already on your car. Now, if you have a Y1 LSD tranny, then it's a different story. But otherwise, stick with the existing axles AND intermediate shaft that you are using now. What the other person was thinking was that the Y1 intermediate shaft is longer than the A1/S1/J1 intermediate shaft, so a shorter driver side (88-89 Integra) axle would need to be used. But if you just switch out the transmissions only, then keep everything else the same, assuming that it's not LSD because then you'll need a shorter passenger side axle since the LSD diff is wider.

so i would need to remove the intermediate shaft from my tranny and use that instead of the one that comes with the Y1? Is this process difficult?

Use the one that you orignally have. Do NOT use the one from the Y1, as it's longer, unless you really want to... then you'll have to change your driver side as well. It's a easy as 3 14mm bolts to undo to get the intermediate shaft out of the transmission.

so i currently have a ys1 and i am going to switch to a y1 w/lsd so what passenger side axle would i use. the ys1 has a grind in third that is why i am switching to the y1. plus the y1 has lsd.
