Default How to Tell Prop Valve Size?

okay, i'm about to do a rear disk conversion on my eg with some from a jdm eg. i've been told it will be okay for me to use the 92-95 ex/si e-brake cables and 92-95 ex/si brake lines.

i went to a junkyard and picked up a 92-95 civic 15/16" brake booster and the prop valve from the same car. is the prop valve 40/40 or the 40/30 i've been reading about? or better yet, am i able to tell what size it is by some marking on the outside?

any help is appreciated. thanks.

What model 92-95 civic did you pull it from? The SI model comes with the 40/30. That is good enough as I am running that also.

I'm not sure if the EX model comes with the 40/30 or not.

Most other models like DX, CX, HX don't have the 40/30 but have the lower versions which you don't want.

Also, you have tell what you have because the PP valve marks it somewhere. You have to look carefully

that's what i can't remember. i know it was a purple coupe that i pulled the booster and prop valve from, possibly an ex. i looked at all the civics in the yard and finally found the 15/16". now, if the car came with a booster that big, it should at least be a 40/30, correct?

That I'm not to sure of.. wait.. the EX coupe did not come with Rear disc so it most likely does not have the 40/30 PP. Sorry man... Check the PP you took. It tells you what you have..

the ex coupes do come with rear disc except it was a option. most I've seen have ABS with them.

The number should be stamped in the body of the valve!

What you will NEVER be able to find out is if the numbers mean anything as to how they function!!! It would seem that the number is nothing more than a "part number".

well, i check the prop valve this weekend and couldn't find anything that would distinguish either a 40/30 or 40/40. anyone else have any useful info for me?
