Default 200whp H22a vs 200whp B18c5...

first off, this is not intended to start a flame war... here is the setting...

2 2000lb cars. One with a 200whp jdm h22a (I say jdm because of shorter gearing), the other with a 200whp b18c5. Both cars keep the stock redline.

how would they compare in acceleration? Would the c5 gearing compensate for the lacking torque? Just want to see what you guys say.

I'd say the C5 Also. I'm not believing in the H22A tranny right now because I have to change out the synchros. The gears seems a bit taller too (correct me if I'm wrong). Oh and Check this out!

After reading that I'm sure that C5 will probably win "ceterus parabus."

depends on the driver in both cars, by looking at the dyno graph, the h22 power band shoot up faster than the b series because of the h22 lower rev range to the higher rev range of the b series, and even with the same amount of hp in both cars, the h22 will have more tq because of a bigger motor(cc), the chances of the h22 will get out of the hole faster, to me i would go with the h22, i like the tq power

the c5 is a factory race engine with high revs and short tranny. It'll win against a stock lude engine.. And even with a euro R or Type S itll be a close race...

They'd be pretty damn close. The B18C5 has some awesome gearing and LSD, and the H22A has some nice torque even with the tall gearing.

It depends on what tranny the H22A has. If it has the LSD M2B4 tranny, I'd have to say it'd probably take the C5 by a hair. If it had the ATR (U2Q7) or Euro R tranny (T2W4) tranny, then the H22 would own it by far.
