How much am i looking at?

Recently I raced a 5th gen civic that absolutely flew by me. He must have had a swap and maybe turbo.
Well, I want one
If I were to price it out what would it be:

Civic with high miles: 4th or 5th gen
3-7K? Is the hatchback the lightest? Which civic should I get? 2/3/4 door?

Engine: I want lowend torque
either Type R, i think B18C5 (4000) or prelude engine H%#@ ? anybody? probably 2.8-3.5 also the GSR engine would do. B18C?
I will probably stick with N/A for a little while till I get the extra 3k needed for the proper turbo set up.

Preferbly the engine would only have 30k miles on it.

How much on average does a good shop charge to do this?

Then im thinking with a 160whp civic i will be gettin into the low 14 high 13 range? Is this correct?

I would stip the interior and put 10 pound race buckets in there

thankyou for any help

i would go with either a 5th or 6th cx,vx or dx hatchbacks.. they are the lightest models.. if you got the money for a b18c5, go for it.. if low end torque is what you want then b18b or b20b, then turbo it..
160 to 180whp can get you into 14s -13s..i've heard..

I own a 92 Civic Si HB with a 98 GSR turbo motor in it. I spent 5750 on the car, 2500 on the swap , and 2500 on the turbo. I would have to say its stupid fast. I took it to the track with street tires and ran a 14.2 in Nebraska.

92CivicSiR - What do you really have in your car? You just made this reply in reference to a B16A1 engine.

I personally have on of those motors...
I'm so confused.

I have a 96 CX, $8k, with a 98 B18c1 and it ran a 14.3 with no header and full interior and ac. I paid $4k for my swap with 27k miles. The 92 CX is the car to get since it's the lightest and has the Vtec wires alreay in the harness. The B18c5 will run you $5k-5.5k, they're not cheap. I would recommend getting a reliable motor from http://www.importautosalvage.com ask for Larry Jr. I know he his getting a shipping container in very soon. His motors come COMPLETE!! Every nut and bolt is there.

Good luck,
