one major problem was the lack of AZN girls

on a serious note, i have no idea how much experience you have, or the tools you have. so im gonna go ahead and say no, not a weekend.

It took me a while because I had so wiring issues. If you have all the tools you need and someone who has done a swap before you could get it done in 1/2 day. If you have never done a swap before maybe 2 days.

HAHA!!!!!!

I think I got all the tools I will need. I can get an engine lift to so that wont be a problem. The only think I can think of is not being able to get the axle nuts loose with my breaker bar. But I can try to find someone with an impact wrench to loosen them up for me and then snug em up. Ive done lots with hondas so far. Ive done clutch jobs repaced CV axels all my myself. So I feel pretty confident. Im just wondering about what kind of probelms people have run into. Like is it usually just lack of parts? Thanks for the response.

10 hrs first swap... 4 hrs second swap... wiring was the hardest part.

point is, it doenst matter how long it takes you as long as you do it right.

Took longer the second time, because I had to wait for the damn axles, mine were blown, but labor was just a few hours spread out over a couple slow lazy days.

A full swap will generally take two days with hand tools.

Powertools = much much faster.

Your first swap is always slow anyways, so give it two days and prepare for the wiring beforehand if you need to.

It took me 2 days to get the axle nuts off. Once that was done the swap took a day and the wiring took 10 mins. I had no physical help at all.

My first swap took 5 hours from start to finish, including pulling the old engine.

Total cakewalk.

first swap gsr into a eh coupe = 10 hrs and 3 hrs on axel nut. my first swap
D15b7 into a 88 dx hatch = 3 hours
Its always the little things that slow you down. If you have all the parts and tools a weekend job is no sweat.

whats up guys. im the friend he's refering to. he had more time at work to write the thread. anyways im thinking it would take a weekend, too, but imacraker wants to take and longer ands wants me to buy another car for a beater,i cant afford that. have any of you guys herd of Honda Heaven in Arlinton TX. they qouted me a B16a2 with LSD, a full swap, for $2450. is that a good deal. Hmotorsonline has them for $2350 w/ out LSD for a complete swap. do yall know of a more reputable place on line to get it cheaper.

im working on mine right now. Taking my time.

Not hard at all so far. Just owrried about wires, but everyones told me to use my LHD harness on the RHD motor and all ill have to rig up is a knock sensor wire and some Intake Manifold wire i think.

Axle nut = 1.5 days
Rest of swap = 1 day so far, just waiting on motor.

If you have wiring issues and it's your first time maybe a little bit longer......... but an entire weekend will probably be the earliest it will be done.

Not a bad idea to be "supervised" by someone who has done a couple of swaps.

Im hoping that[ITRacer] will see this post and respond. we did a swap w'the pull of the old motor and adding of the new motor, and goofing around and playing pinball, and playing on H-T, and other nameless ****.... we had it done in a weekend. great learning experience IMO. we now have a lot more knowledge and good experience( again IMO ) of doing a swap. good luck with yours. we also swapped a JDM B16a into a car.

the actual swap only took us about 8 hrs with alot of goofing around btu the car set in the garage for a few days due to dumbass mistakes( no CKF sensor on JDM motors, wrong rear motor mount, and had 2 sensor on the Tb switched and the damn thing wouldnt run right oh and it makes it alot easier with ODB1 )

first swap took me 2 days.. did not really look up on it and no manual. the second took me..11 hrs with total 2 hr breaks here and there, in 90+ degree outside. that is taking the old moter out of my wrecked car and swapping into the new one.. the third swap took 6 hrs .. disassemble one motor b16 tranny etc.. into b20..

this is with all hand tools.. now i got compressor with no swaps..

i definately think u can swap in a weekend..cause i know u read all about it..
lets just say if u can do a clutch job then u can do a swap with ease..

Depends on wether or not you have experience and luck on your side. With experiance it can easily be done in one day. Thats removing the old engine too. Hopefully you wont have any wiring problems. Good luck.
