Default how long did it take for your new motor to start up?(need help too!)

how long did it take for the intitial start up? im asking because my h22a doesnt wanna start up in my cx. i hear this weak whirling noise that gets weaker when i try to crank it more, and thats about it, everything is plugged up except the EGR and O2. i dont have a clue on whats the problem, my dad told me that dont crank it so much cause it sounds weak and could possibly damage the starter. im guessing that its just a old motor thats been sitting and needs alotta cranking. how long did it take for your new motor to crank? anyone have an idea to fix my problem?

its a obdI h22a4 motor, in a 94 cx hb. i have a strong feeling its the distributor(ignitor), because the battery was fully recharged the nite before and yes the lights did dim on the dash and all that. when i crank the care, useually i could hear the car crank a number of times, but now its just a weak whirl that just dies. BTW i dont know the plug wires order on to the dizzy, is it the same as a gsr motor?

I just finished 2 days ago... I fired it up after a 3-4 second crank. I kissed the car, that is never that easy..
