If your worried then just go with a gsr block. It really depends on if you plan on resleeving the motor or not. Also check out the the tech forum,i think thats where this question needs to be.

I believe you can run a B17 crank in that but you'll have to run custom rods..

Do some research on that.. Probably cost too much to be worth it though..

A GSR block doesn't really gain you any r/s ratio. Its 1.58 vs 1.54 for the LS/B20 blocks

The rod stroke ratio is not as bad as you think it is. There are plenty of people who have reliable LS/B20 VTEC setups, just make sure you get it built correctly and not by some lazy bum like me.

If you're worried about the rod/stroke ratio, just get a block girdle to keep the block more stable at high RPM. I hear block guards are worthless. Get your block balanced and blueprinted and all that fun stuff too.

Hope that helps.

run a b16 crank, you still end up with 1.8l. I think there is a specific crank that fits, I mean not all B16 cranks fit. This lessens the stroke and you have to run a longer rod, this gives a "better" rod/stroke. IT becomes easier if you just call it a "long rod" motor instead of always thinking R/S.
