not simple because if it was everyone would do it
but its very possible if you are motivated.

My stock as fk '98 GSR motor (ACT street/strip clutch, xtreme pp) with DX piping and muffler (no cat) on 14" steelies and $60 cheapo 185/65s with full interior netted me a best of 14.0 at Sac Raceway..

The NX kit (75 shot) on top of that setup except with DC-4-1, AEM shortram, 2.5" hi-flow cat and piping to an ITR muffler got me down to a 12.50 and now I have a Greddy GSR turbo kit that I'm borrowing for maybe one more week and at only 0.4 bar (6.1 pounds), it's beating the shi(t) out of the nitrous in 3rd and 4th..

If u want to stay NA you can just go headwork (moderate port with valvetrain) along with cams, ecu and slicks to get you to low 13s no problem.. Either way it'll be fun to drive..

Default EASY!!!!

my buddy has a type r motor in his 93 si hatch, and he runs a 12.80 with stripped interior, and slicks, and thats with just i/h/e

strip your interior, get a set of slicks, and plan to run a high 13/low 14
add the I/h/e and you will see huge gains
the lighter the car gets
the faster it gets!

hey man I just finished my lsvtec and you know Im going to reccomend the b18 over the b16. My friend has a 99 Si w/ JRSC and there is no torque. it's quiet disgusting. I promise the wait is well worth it. Don't settle for a b16. they're good engines, but man a lack of torque absolutely blows goats. Once again, don't settle. WAIT.

Don't get the B16, two months is worth the wait I've had both and love the B18 power. The only way to have a B16 and break into the 13s is with boost or NO2.

You'll regret getting the B16a......

I think the rod stroke ratio is obviously important but I think a lot of people on here over rate it a little bit. It obviously will put less wear on the engine if you are running an ideal r/s ratio but if you aren't running a highly tuned engine it isn't really a big concern. If you are thinking of boosting the engine later down the road and you want to run more than 8-10 psi you are going to have to resleeve the engine for reliability anyway and some good golden eagle sleeves will be strong enough to handle the r/s ratio because it isn't really that bad in the first place.
