how to get more power in a 94 dx?
Alright, my friend has a 94 dx 2dr. He wants and needs more power, so I am on a quest to find the most bang-for-the-buck mod to do to his engine. So, I've found an engine, b16a2, and a vtec head to put on the original motor. I know the engine swap will give much more power, but there aren't many people around here that know how to do something of this difficulty level.
Now, to the vtec head. What all is needed? I know that the distributor needs to be replaced, the timing belt, maybe the water pump, and something with the ecu, right? if the ecu has to be replaced, what would be the best one to replace it with? Thanks

Engine swap imo is a lot easier then doing a mini me (vtec head on d15 block)..
You would need the complete head, ecu, timing belt, head gasket, oil line, and do some wireing..
Engine swap, unplug unbolt engine, remove, drop new one in, plug in, add 3 wires, off you go

That's not even something to debate if you have the b16a2,put it in.I've done both and it is faster and easier to swap a motor than swap a head.Plus why would you not want to get the most out of your time,124-130hp vs 160hp.where's the question.
The waterpump is attached to the block not the head. But it is a good idea to replace all that when the motor is out of the car.
