Did a search, still some questions. Whats worth spending the extra 1100 dollars to get a 2nd gen b16a when all u get is basically a hydro tranny. This is no drag project just a daily cruiser with some ballz TIA

Well, for one, if you ever need to rebuild a hydro tranny, you can easily use any syncros/internals from almost any US hydro b-series tranny, depending on which hydro trans you go with. When cable tranny's go bad, most of the time, its the 3rd gear syncro that starts the downhill domino effect, and when you need to replace cable series syncros, good luck finding a new set statside. The only 'great' cable tranny is the 92-93 series, YS1 tranny's. Those actually use hydro-tranny internals within a cable series casing.

Hydro trannys have better/stronger internals than cable series.

There's more optional final drive kits available for hydro tranny's vs. cable trannys.

..overall hydro trannys own cable trannys.

Obvioulsy you didn't do a very good job at your search, because you would have found out the following..
jdm b16a first gen (sir1).....
10.2:1 compression 158hp and 111ft lbs of tq
cable tranny, and non obd.requires a mount kit to place in a usdm chassis.

second gen b16a (sir2)
168hp and 116ft lbs of tq
hydrolic tranny, obd-1, drops rite in with no mount kit.

If your thinking of using a sir1 in a obd1 or obd2 chassis you will need the following
1)Hydrolic tranny
2)obd ecu
3)obd injectors
4)distributor
5)speed sensor on tranny
6)i've been told both ways but you also need a mount kit.....
then you also run into legality problems and the fact that you have an engine that is 10+ years old going into your car....

the second gen has better cams and head

You didnt read my question did you. I know the difference between the engines, but im talking about what a hydro tranny has over a cable. I plan on putting a 2nd gen b16 into a 91crx. I searched but i must have not used the proper wording. The other guy that replied answered my questions with that the internal parts on hydro tranny are beefier and just better designed. Thanks

Looks like a question pertaining to the 1st gen b16a and second gen b16a to me!
Sure your topic says difference between hydrolic and cable tranny's.. but then it changes to asking about the 1st gen and 2nd gen b16a's....make up your mind otherwise you get answers to two different question that were both posted by you.

You asked and you got
