OK guys, I see a few problems. How are you going to generate heat to utilize the large radiator? Will you be able to increase oil capacity? I saw all of these things while playing with a home built go kart with a water cooled 2 stroke engine. I eventually used a small radiator and temps were good ( around 175 degrees ). I used an oil filter adapter to a small tank for oil with a filter on the suction side of the tank, kinda like a dry sump set up. Worked great until I pulled the skirt off of the piston doing burnouts against a big block 1970 vette. Gave it to the neighbor kid and he rebuilt it and drove it once then sold it, said it scared the crap out of him in 4th and 5th gear.
Regards
Dave

How do you configure the primaries/secondaries in a system like that? Solidworks?

Smilindave, I doubt we will have any problems with the cooling system, it is a track car after all.

Hard to believe almost, but we're done fabricating on this car (for now).
So we took it all apart, sent all the Steel parts to get powder coated Pearl Gunmetal Gray and all the Aluminum parts to get hard anodized Black, then we gave the bare chassis a two tone paint job - White for all the tub parts, Metallic Gray for the cage.

Things started coming back and we started the most fun stage of the project - final assembly, when the vision finally comes together the way it was imagined from the get go [img][img]

I love this part of a project, assembling all the bits and pieces when everything is fresh and clean, it looks so cool coming together!

We still have a little bit of waiting to do, the header went to Jet Hot to get coated and one of the axles we received from the Driveshaft Shop was not built to spec so it's going back to get redone, but save these two, the car should be driving worthy rather shortly!
I'll update when we get there

I slacked on updating this over the last few days, but I'll jump right to it because the most important bit happened yesterday - all systems checked and we took it out for a first drive!
And what an INSANE drive it is!!!
The crazy soundtrack, the never ending revs, excitement was at an all time high and cold beers were passed around
Best of all - EVERYTHING just worked as designed.

Oh, we'll have more soon
After a handful of passes up and down the street we pulled it right back into the shop and started immediately revising some stuff that you really can't tell how it's going to work until you drive it.
To give you an example, the clutch pedal had very little modulation which made it tricky to get off the line, and combined with sticky tires and higher weight (than the bike) it was very easy to stall it. So went ahead and revised the clutch master setup to allow better control.
It's all small stuff, which really tells you how well the car worked right out of the box. When we came back from the drive the owner exclaimed how this feels a lot like his Porsche and I remarked that this is pretty good, considering Porsche's development budget had a bunch of extra zeroes

Understandable. Keep us updated here as this becomes a driver/track car.
