Default Honda/Acura Engine Performance...good book?

I just bought this book from summit called Honda /Acura Engine Performance. I just started reading it and before I knew nothing about motors and now...I sort of do.
Any beginners out there interested in learn more about motors and your car alone, This is a decent book to invest in. Any body familiar with it?

Is it a decent book with good tech sections? Or is it one of those , "Well we stuck this here NAWWZZZ bottle on the car and turned her into a rice rocket"?
I've personally not heard of it, but if it's informative and has good tech articles and you're learning from it then I guess it was a good spend on your part.

Well, any reading is good.. especially if you learn something... but I've read that book... it's a little crappy/ricey... but not all bad. They could've cut out about 60% of the info written and still had a good book...lol

I just picked up the "How to Build Honda Horsepower" book by Richard Holdener, the one with the blue civic on the cover, and it's excellent. It's got all the dyno charts to prove everything. Good reading, I just wish I could read my physics book as much as that book. Well worth the $25.

I think I have the book you are talking about. I think it is a little outdated though. It does have some fantastic theory and explination, but the 477 hp (crank not wheel) GSR touted on the cover just doesn't seem as impressive as it used to

I can't forget this one too.

The 3 books I posted have been a great help to myself, and some other guys on our team. The books are well written, and contain straight facts, most of them backed up by dynos. They're well worth the price paid.

FYI, this book sucks ***.
It's a weak version of a late 90's buyers guide.
Stay away!

Yeah, but you might end up breaking something or fuking something up. So I am going to stick with reading about it first. Some of the parts in the book are pointless. Like the bolt on mods section. Anyway, its a decent book

No not all, The guy who wrote it really knows his shyt. They've got info on everything. I had no idea how turbo worked, and the book tells you what it is, what you need, and how it works. Same for all sorts of swaps. I wish it showed installations though...
