Hi Res pictures of ongoing progress with B16A swap
I'll just post up a few pictures and warn you that the files range from about 45Kb to 100Kb. These are pictures of my car as it sits tonight. I'm expecting the motor either tomorrow or wednesday which is when I'll be performing a full tune-up on that motor while it is still out of the car. I'm thoroughly enjoying this so far, even though I am in a rush to get this done so I don't have to hitch a ride to work for my 50 mile a day commute.
GSpeedR (Chris) will probably be helping me this weekend and I will be getting the engine hoist this weekend too! :D By the way, this is the 170hp 2nd Gen B16A (OBDI) so it will actually be an upgrade from the B17A even though I lose 6 ft-lbs of torque.
The reason for the swap:
No radiator. No air conditioning (compressor and condensor and all hard lines gone for good!).
3/4 Shot
Parts and tools everywhere!
Here is the link for the rest of the pictures: http://www.kettering.edu/~thor3026/zother/Swap/

Looks like fun man. My pal's JDM B16A second -gen just rolled 152whp, 105lb/ft. of torque when he dynoed it on Saturday. This with only a DC 4-2-1 and a 5Zigen exhaust and kenji-P28!
That's better than like 5 guys' B18C1 swaps around here - including my old one! So you're getting a really good motor - I'm sure you'll find it better than your old B17. Good luck with the labor!

Thanks B18C5-EH2. Say, you've been lurking around here helping with all my questions/comments/concerns. Thanks for the luck, I hope I won't need it but I am thoroughly enjoying this so far.

have you taken apart the b17 block yet? you should salvage the crank and rods if you can. or just give them to me, i will pay for shipping.

Re: Hi Res pictures of ongoing progress with B16A swap (Jackson)
I was planning on keeping a hold of them. I know B17A parts are worth quite a bit because the crank is extremely rare, and is also used in a lot of B20 build ups if I'm not mistaken. I know that one of the rods is gone, because of the hole in my block. Those pictures were taken last night, so you can see that I haven't gotten inside it yet to assess the damage. I just know the block is pretty much trashed.
