Help... Searching for competent swap shop in So Cal.
I am new to Honda-Tech. About 8 months ago I had a JDM B16 installed in my 89 CRX Si. I had an ACT clutch and streetlite flywheel installed as well. Then I got one of those "Smog Test Only" registration in the mail. I failed the inspection and function part of the smog test and had to go to a referee station. The referee told me that in order for me to pass, I had to convert everything to a USDM 94 Del Sol V-tec engine.
I had to convert to:
1. Intake manifold with MAP sensor.
2. 94 Del Sol ECU
3. Grey wire Distributor
4. OBD0 to OBD1 (jumper harness)
5. Use only 1 O2 sensor.
The car ran fine until on day I floored it in second gear to get on the freeway and my car bogged, the tach needle jumped all over the place even though the engine did not rev. The engine finally quit. I was able to restart after a couple of minutes but now I am searching for a "reliable" shop in So Cal that can look at my swap and tell me exactly what needs to be done in order to make the car reliable. I've spent too much money already on dissappointment.
