Help needed on D16A1 swap in 89 civic
I just bought a D16a1 from a junkyard but didn't come w/ tranny or ecu. I know what type of ecu I have to buy but,I dont know what type of transmission to buy of can I use the stock transmission that's already in the car?
Any help would be wonderful!

Hate to break it to you, but that D16A1 isn't going to bolt into your Civic. Even if you used your existing tranny, the driver's side engine mount is totally different from other D-series motors. You are better off selling the D16A1 and getting either a JDM DOHC ZC motor or maybe a SOHC VTEC engine.

Yup, unless you feel like doing a custom fab mount setup it's not going to work. Better off selling it as mentioned.
