yea but its illegal and there will be no obd2 plug when it needs to be inspected. i dont have someone who will illegally inspect an obd2 car- the machine needs to get a reading off the car to print out the sticker.

can i just get an obd2 gsr ecu and harness, injectors, distributor or whatever else that is differnt on the engine? in essence just make the motor into that of one out of say a 98 gsr? or does the gsr harness not work in the civic? inthat case would a civic si ecu harness work?

there's a lot of **** to do to make a car obd2. do a search you'll turn up good info. to use that motor you're better off buying a 95 or older car...

I would just use the stock harness and add the wires for the vtec, etc. Our shop convert obd1 motor to obd2 all the time and it's really not that difficult. You need a 99 si rear mount bracket, obd2 distributor, obd2 injectors, and ecu. If you use the ex harness then you don't have to convert the idle speed control to 2 wires. if you use the dx harness then you need to search on how to convert to a 2 wires. We usually get an obd2 to obd1 harness and use an obd1 ecu, but if you must use an obd2 ecu then you need to change the oil pump to obd2 so you can mount the cfk sensor. Beside that, it's mostly plug and play. Just pm me if you have any questions.
