Help! My GSR swap is MISBEHAVING!
I finally got everything in. The car is a 89 4 door civic. The motor is a 96 USDM GSR, the tranny is a b17a GSR cable tranny. I wired it up for OBD 0 using some stuff from my b16a1. i used the distributor, ECU, O2 sensor, and fuel injectors. Started her up today. There seems to be sensor/wiring related problems. Everytime i reach 2500 rpm it start boging. And anything more then a little throttle makes it bog too. My main suspect right now is the Throttle position sensor, i broke the GSR one so i anstalled my b16 one. What i think is messing it up is that i installed pointing the other way then the GSR one was, simply for easier installation. Would that mess up the reading? And does my 2500 rpm boging problem sounds like a TPS problem? Theres other issues too. My b16a1 vtec solenoid only had one plug, but this GSR one has two, what do i do? leave it unplugged? help

NO CEl, the check engine light just stays solid. Oh, and i guess my b16 vtec solenoid DOES have two plugs on the vtec solenoid. That problem is solved. Ill post pics of the swap tonight if i get a chance. Its not your average GSR hybrid.

well go jump the service connector and let us know what the blinks are like or count the codes...long is 10 short is 1...should blink like morse code! other than that its kinda hard to say...tps is pretty fussy sometimes..now are you using the civic harness rewired to gsr engine?

check the red wire on the tps for voltage, it should read .5 at idle and 4.5 at wide open throttle. Check it with the ignition to on and the car off. sounds like tps problem to me

lol. 4 codes. ive got 2 broken sensors (MAP, IAT), one sensor is reversed (TPS), and a VTEC pressure code. Reusing the sensors from my ols b16 i got it runin with no codes, and quite quick too. Pics will be up this evening.
