help with intake man butterflys (IAB)
hi i have a 91 crx si w/ b18c, i nead to know how to tell if the IAB 's are working or not and proper wireing. now i have the black wire grounded and the outher going to the coumputer (p72) thanks

you need a 12v source and the other wired to A17.
and you will hear the secondary butterflies open at around 5300 rpm, i believe it is.

grounded if its obdI engine, +12V if its obdII. with the car off look to see if the arm one the diaphram can move up and down. start the car and it should suck closed. see if it does.

Just take them out. You don't need them.
It has been shown many times here that removing or disabling the IAB valves noticably hurts the low end. I'm not going to re-hash the arguments, they are all in the archive.
To tell if they are working properly the valves should snap shut when you start the engine and then open around 5,800 RPM. If the solenoid isn't getting a signal the default position is open (which like I saud, kills your low end)
