help h22-ek not running right????
i have an h22 swap on my 97 civic cx.... my problem is that it is not running right... engine light is still on and i ran very badly in the track with street tires... here is my set-up
-2000 h22a on a 1997 ek hatch
- Im using gsr ecu since i can't use the prelude ecu that came with the engine coz' it has an immobilizer- is there anyway I can disable the immobilizer???
my last resort is to convert to obd1 wiring and ecu...will these work?
any help will be appreciated... ....
to anyone who did the similar set-up and is succesful, can you send me pics and/or details.
thnx a lot guys....

Yes, you can have the immobilizer "bypassed" in the later model p5m (97+) prelude ecu's. But I have one that was done, and it basically just kills the ecu. The CEL comes on all the time, and you have to wait 5 seconds before you can start the car (after the fuel pump shuts off). Its was a waste. Either find a 96 prelude ecu (only year that didnt have the immobilizer) or go buy hondata and convert to obd1
Edit: Or you can just say with the GSR ecu and get a vafc to be safe.

Convert that **** to obd1. Youll have a whole lot less to worry about and should be easy to get rid of the check engine cell. One thing you should know is that if you dont have the egr hooked up or wired up right it will throw a code every now and then. The egr code is no big deal so if thats your only code then you should be good to go.
