what year engine do you have? cause unless it's an 1st gen b16 everything should plug in then you just need to get a obd2 to 1 converter so that you can run the obd1 ecu. prolly either a p30 or a chipped p28.

ok hopefully this helps...
i have a 97 dx w/ a jdm b16a, the car is OBD2 and the motor is OBD1, i'm using my stock harness and ran a wire for the vtec. i rewired a12 to a14 on my harness
for the IAC. i'm using a skunk2 obd1-obd2 converion harness and P28 ecu w/ skunk2 chip. peace

everything doesn't plug up the differences are the dist , alt . alt I took care of I just rewired the obd 1 alt plug to my harness the obd1 dist has 9 plugs and my harness has 8. I want to match wire for wire so i don't have to buy a dist and i'm out of money to buy the conversion harness. I'm just going to repin the connector from the jdm harness to my feed it everything it needs and forget the rest

ur swap is like mine.. i put a b16b in my 99 civic lx 4 door... the distributor on the b16 should have 10 wires to the plug.. ur dx harness has 8 to the plug.. the dx harness is missing the power wire and the crank trigger wire so therefore ur car wont start.. the best thing to do is get a b16 wiring harness, other wise you'll jes be pulling ur hair out.. i used an ex but i borrowed it from my friend..his car is runnin now so he needed it back.. now im stuck looking for a b16 wiring harness.. jes get a new wiring harness bro... without the crank trigger wire ur car the computer doesnt know where to send its signals..

thanks for the info but i think there might be a different between your engine and mines you said you had a b16b thats the civic type r right. the dist on my jdm b16a has 9 wires and my dx harness has 8 I think I figure out the extra wire might be the tach wire the rest of the wires colored match to my 8 wires on my harness. I'll cross my finger and hope that it fires up. Anybody know for sure what the extra blue wire on the jdm b16a dist is for ?
