probably k20... theyre pretty expensive though.. Ive heard theyre about 10 grand, h22's are about 5 grand after the install. so if you go with h22 you can put 5 more g's into it and itd be faster than the k20. the h22 sits closer to the front on the eg's so steering will be a little weird I think. How do you feel about a gsr swap

we picked up my brothers k20a2 swap for 3100 shipped. hasport mounts for 500, custom axles 120 a side, made the harness, had the 10AN line and 6an return left over from when i did my car, just got a aeromotive regualtor. Using stock rsx-r ecu total was less than 4000 installed k20a2 into 92 civic cx

When it's all said and done, expect to shell out between $4,000-$6,000 for a complete swap on a K20.

I rather go K20, those engines are immaculate on power.

if you look around you will find that the k20a2 swaps go for around 2800-3300. I got the swap from eric aka k20eg back in april.

not to steal your post man but i too am looking at one of these swaps. so my question is an h22 from a prelude type s or a the k20 from the rsx type s? are the prices somewhat comparable? how about for a guy with only one swap (b16 into crx) under his belt?

I think it depends on what you want and how much you want to spend. If you just want to hit 13's an H22 wil get you there for less money. Anything faster, you should really look into the K20's. I know the H22 can be faster than 13's, but thats my personal opinion. The weight issue of the H22 may arise in autocross, but for drag it desn't really matter. Also you can't deny the 6 speed of the K20's.

Near stock K20A-R just has DTR header, 52mm ITB's 11.73 @ 112mph the car has run 115mph traps aswell.. Thats potential given that the only internal mod has been VTC killer cam gears. Other than that nothing has been machined no porting etc.. Although my EG is around 1800lbs with me in it..

That isn't a lot done to your K20a at all to hit those times But the H22A is a great motor too... Just the swap wasn't hyped up like others. I've got guys up here in Canada with complete stock H22a at 1750lbs going 11.81@109MPH. But the K-series is the wave of the future if you have the money. But if your on a budget the H-series motors are a lot of fun too. Hondog that car of yours is sweet, keep going faster man.

Ok well i was gonna say the K did'tn have an lsd option, but i just bit my own words. it does. So does H.

K
http://www.hmotorsonline.com/s...30014
H
http://www.hmotorsonline.com/s...30015

Now i don't know whereyou guys have your connections at, but that Kseries is 5600, that H series is under 2000 from Hmotors, i'd assume aorund the same for all. + mounts (500) and other things....i can't see it being less than 7 grand even with all your own work. If you have things laying around the garage, thats different.

Another thing i wanted to point out for discussions sake. The H22 pre 95 i beileve was a closed deck motor (in some aspects able to hold more boost in stock form) , with an R/S ratio at 1.58. The K has a 1.62 R/S ratio and is open deck, iron sleeves i believe.

Yes K is the wave of the future, so for an investement i think it would be great, but everything you buy for it will be that much more expensive and not as much research backing it as say a B series. H....i'm not so sure, its been around, but has'nt gotten the attention that the B's got.

Nope.

K20a - Type R, 220hp LSD
K20a2 - Type S, 200hp no LSD
K20a3 - Civic, 160hp no LSD

I would say go with k20. The k20 is 1000 lbs lighter than the h22. The type s is 200 hp and the type r is 220 hp.

What intake did you run? Headers? What axles are worth $120? What shifter cables did you used?

Please enlighten us.

If he got his motor through K20EG, I'm guessing he got his header and axles through Protech Fab(I think thats the name of the company). I seem to remember the axles being quoted at that exact same price.
