H22a into EK Vacuum lines question

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone can tell me where the lines for these vac ports are meant to go.

https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...b066ee7488.jpg

1. Two ports on the right hand side of the manifold. Are these for something or can I block them off?

2. Two ports on the left of the inlet just behind the throttle body. Are these for anything or can I block them off too?
https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...721d465533.jpg

3. The vac pipe from the EGR has a long plastic extension in it but not sure where this is meant to go to?
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...6fab4419d8.jpg

4. There are two pipes mounted to some sort of sensor / solenoid on the back of the gearbox. Not sure what these are or what the part they are attached to is?

Thanks for your help guys.

What is this part and have I connected it right?

Hi guys,

Just wondering what this part is for? I guessed it was the evap purge solenoid and so I have connected the vac pipe on the top of it to the charcoal cannister. Is this right?

Cheers

Re: What is this part and have I connected it right?

I think you have the vacuum lines incorrect based on what you have stated and what I see in the pic. One vacuum line will go from the bottom of the purge solenoid to the intake manifold. The side port of the solenoid will connect to the charcoal canister. Now I can't see the plug for your IACV because it is covered by the vacuum line between the purge solenoid and the FPR, (which incidentally should be connected from the FPR to a port on the intake manifold) but that may actually be the plug for the purge solenoid. I can't see the wire colors in that plug... but the grey plug you have connected to the purge solenoid is actually the one for the IACV. The wire colors for the correct purge solenoid plug would be a red wire and a yellow/black wire.

Re: What is this part and have I connected it right?

Thanks for getting back to me. I see what you mean, I should have explained how it was connected.

The line underneath does go to the inlet manifold. The line on the right of the pic is from the fuel return line. And the line on top was left open before and I assumed that would be the line from the evap canister.

does the fuel return line (not actually the return line just the vac line from the diaphragm on top) not go here? As when I bought the car this is where the line was.

If the line line I have put on the top is wrong, is there meant to be anything on there to block the port off? As I have seen pictures of purge solenoids and they normally have a plastic circle on the top port but this one didn't come with one.

Also so I understand what you mean about the wiring. I didn't actually wire it but I think the colours wont match the original prelude colours as the previous owner took the civic loom and changed the plugs. Also the plug on the bottom of the purge valve is circular and the other one is square.

Re: H22a into EK Vacuum lines question

Update:

The vac lines don't have to be used as I am swapping it into a civic, so i'm told.

The 4th picture is to do with speed sensitive power steering so I can leave them as well.

The EGR picture I am told a P28 ecu doesnt look for EGR valve so that is irrelevant as well.

Still wanting to know if I hooked up the Purge valve right but I will make a separate thread for that as it is clearer :)

Evap valve connections

Hi all,

Just wondering if I have done this right?

The top line is connected to the evap cannister. The bottom line is connected to the inlet manifold. And the side line is connected to the Fuel return line diaphram.

Cheers

Re: Evap valve connections

If you aren't using a P13 (H22) ECU, the FPR vacuum line needs to be connected DIRECTLY to the intake manifold to receive a direct vacuum source. The vent cap would normally fit over the barb on the top of the solenoid that you have pictured... it is missing and you have installed a vacuum hose to it instead. This circuit is not normally the purge/cut in a Prelude or Accord... that circuit is mounted on the firewall. You can use it for purge... but you will have to verify the wiring position at the ECU for your needs.

Re: Evap valve connections

Thanks that is very helpful. Do I need a vent cap if I use this as a purge? Or can I just leave the barb open?

All 3 threads merged to this one thread, seem to be all related and nearly duplicate threads.

Moving thread to Hybrid section (Non stock motor for chassis section).
