h22a hatch leaky axle seal issues
So I got the big pig of a motor called the H22A down in my hatch. Got everything hooked up, added fluids and what not. Fired it up only to find gear oil pouring out of the tranny. Found that it was leaking out of the passanger side axle seal.
Axle seals.... no biggie right? Wrong, huge PITA.
Setup:
H22A from HMO
94 Accord intermeadite shaft w/ 93 GSR axle -working fine-
Passanger side is a 93 GSR outer snout and rod on a 94 Accord EX inner axle cup/snout.(Tried this after the 93 gsr axle as a whole was leaking and searching more on here).
I've tried a countless number of seals and can't get any of them to seal. All the local parts stores cringe when I walk in now haha. Last stop is actully getting one from Honda since they're a good hour and a half away from my house(Hey, I live in the sticks and it sucks)
I have also:
- Drained the trans and pulled the seal out to: check for cracks in the housing, scratches to the surface where the seal goes, applied a thin layer of black silicon to the OD of the seal(just to make sure the leak wasn't comming from between the case and seal), and cussed a lot at it.
Wondering if I was the only one who has ran in to this issue with the swap. Thanks in advance for the help

Course no one in town has a prelude axle in stock. Got one on order and it'll be in tommrrow so I can, hopefully, get this bastard fixed. I'm dyin to drive it.
Also picked up a new seal from the stealership so i know I have the right one.

Yes I read your post. That's why I made the comment about no one in town having a prelude axle and I said that it didn't seal.
Against my will, I pulled my trans. It didn't seem logical a crapload of axles and seals later that the [freak]er would stop leaking.
It seems that someone was inside that trans before and dicked up majorly. Some asshat didn't put a bearing race in the passanger side of the case for the diff. Case was scored a bit but the local trans shop said they can smooth it out and install the bearing kit I got for it.

what as left of the bearing on the passanger side of the diff

Re: (superfast666)
No, you gave the right answer.
Once I put the Prelude inner joint on the Integra axle, everything locked in fine but would still pour gear oil out when you tried to move the car. Found that out by putting it on jackstands and having a friend engauge firstgear and let the wheels roll @ idle speed. You could watch the passanger side axle roll in a oval-ish pattern.
Dude I got the swap from was cool enough to flip the tab for the rebuild. ~$200 for all new bearings and labor. SHould be finished tonight so I can re-install the trans. Been dealin with this crap for almost 2 weeks now and am dyin to drive the car
