H22A Civic Shift Linkage Problems. Any idea for you H22A gurus?
Hello. I have a H22A in a 92-95 Honda Civic Coupe.
My shift linkage broke. So now I'm trying to replace it.
I purchased shift linkage from a 1995 Honda Prelude VTEC, but when I tried to put it in, it was too short. I have a custom motor mounts (by Dr. Charles) and my shifter box is welded in, a little farther back than how it is normally mounted today.
Does anywhere know if there are any other shift linkages that would fit but are longer? Does anyone know if the 94-97 Accord Shift linkages work, and if they are longer or shorter?
CLIFF NOTES:
I have an old school swap. The motor sits differently and the 92-96 Prelude Shifter Assembly is WELDED. I cannot change that. The shifter box sits back more than swaps done today. The motor sits a little more forward than swaps done today. Therefore, the cables I have are TOO SHORT!
My original cables fit, and I don't know what car they came out of. I purchase shift linkage from a 95 H22A Prelude, and they were shorter by a few inches.
90-93 Accord shift linkage is different part number from 94-97 Accord. 92-96 Prelude is also different part number.
Which one is the longest?

Try to route it differently. When I installed mine it took a few tries to get it right. Try going around the steering rack differently. Theirs my two cents if it helps. Good luck

Lets try this again. I have H22A Civic that has been running for many years. The shift linkage broke. I bought a set used for someone, and the cables are SHORTER..... LITERALLY! So my question is what is the LONGEST linkage that would fit in a 92-96 Prelude shifter box assembly.
I have a perfectly running H22A. I just need to replace the cables...that's it

I know some cables are longer than others however I'm not sure which ones those are.

To make it work, I called around. Had custom ones made.
