Default H22A in 90 Accord EX

I just put an H22A into a 90 EX Accord. The swap itself was fairly simple, just a few mods needed, but I have some questions about the VTEC wiring. Everything I found said to tap into a few pins on the ECU. D3 for the Knock Sensor, A4 for the VTEC solenoid, etc. My question is, these pins are occupied. Do I follow the wire from the pinout to the engine bay and attach the wire from the sensor to the specified ECU wire? Or am I missing something here.

Also, the engine that I got didn't come with the AIB (Air intake by-pass), also sometimes called the secondary intake valve. From what I read, I needed it, although I didn't have it. Please advise.

The last thing is, the Prelude ECU that came w/the engine was bad. The car runs fine with the Accord ECU, but no VTEC . Is a VAFC a good idea here?
