Default h22 turbo tranny : accord or h22

guys ... my curent h22 tranny is dying and i'm getting another one under the waranty . Since I'm going Turbo I was wondering if it would be a wise choice for me to get the accord tranny . problem however is that i won't be turbo for about 1 year so i'm not sure if this will affect me that much .

but i have to add that i don't like the h22 gearing ... 5th seems really short and it kills me on gas on the highway . My car eats more on the highway than in the city i think

the accord tranny will have longer gears so for turbo yeah its great, you get more power out of the turbo, you can get it now why not? same thing ..just H tranny is a bit stronger thats all.

Stick with the h22a tranny and equip it with LSD if it isnt already. Having longer gears will keep you in boost longer yes, but the lude tranny is definately stronger and you will be suprised what it can do for you..

Well remember shorter gearing are for sports cars. So of course its going to be different than you DX tranny.. But I get fairly good gas mileage and I believe that 5th gear is fairly reasonable. I mean I hit 117mph at around 5.5k on my lude engine before I hit the speed governer

i know what u mean , in fact i worded my sentence wrong . Point is i was expecting lower cruising RPM's from a 2.2 , especially with this gearing , because the first 4 gears are fairly long , it just seems that 5th is shorter ... very odd ...
however last nite i had a coupe of highway runs and i can tell you that it might not be good for F/E but it's good for other things :D

Hi

This topic is of interest to me - will an H22 bolt onto an auto Accord tranny (1996 F22B). I have an Odyssey with an F22B and a 4 speed 4WD auto tranny and need to know if the H22 will bolt on - I want to retain the 4WD but get more opwer.

i dunno about the h23 but i guess i've decided to stick with the h22 ... ppl are telling me it's quite good and the gearing is quite long ( just that stupid 5th is short for some reason ) ...

We shall see for now i got an h22 , turbo will go in later on anywais maybe by that time i'd be able to buy a house too in which case i'll just get an accord tranny and swap them out and test them
