h22 swap shift linkage issues.
I have a 95 coupe with a 94 h22a swap I've had this car for 4 years and haven't had much issues. Until one day one of my shift cables break, I order another set on eBay and they are 2.5 inches too short, then I find a 92 accord and pull the linkage myself and I get home and the same problem it also is shorter than my original linkage by 2.5 inches. From what I read online 90-93 accords and 92-96 preludes all use the exact same linkage!!! I don't understand this at all.

Go to a Honda parts website like Majestic and cross check the numbers to verify differences. I would go from there. Maybe the 97+ preludes have longer cables.
Did you pull the cables off a h22 prelude or f series? No sure if it matters though.

Re: h22 swap shift linkage issues.
I originally bought the car in 09 already h swapped with a blown engine, I replaced engine and went on my way. So I have no idea where the original came from, the first replacement was from eBay and said it works with accord prelude or h swap civic, it was too short, then I pulled one from a f series 92 accord. They were both the same length, 2.5 inches shorter than my original.

Re: h22 swap shift linkage issues.
Yes. There's only one way for it to go. But I actually laid both of my replacements side by side along with the original and the original looks exactly the same but is 2.5 inches longer than the 2 I've purchased. Looks like I have 2 options find someone to fix my original somehow or cutting and moving the whole shifter assembly forward 2.5 inches. I'm leaning towards recutting and welding the shifter assembly position, I have enough clearance... What do you guys think?

Which cable you need depends on which shifter you have. (Prelude, accord) and the year of the lude or accord the shifter came from. You could have a 94-97 accord shifter.

Which cable do you need? The one that is stationary? Or the one that operates the shift lever? Can you measure it and see how long it is? I have several cables from different accords and ludes and I can tell you which one you need.

I can only shift into 2, 4, and R. So the one that differentiates between "up" and "down" gears. Do u want a measurement of just the cable part or the entire linkage?
