Default H22 swap, No vtec after service.

I have a 98 ex with a JDM H22a swap.
The timing belt tensioner was starting to make noise so I changed everything while in there.

I replaced both tensioners and pullies and water pump.
I also replaced the valve cover gasket set, pcv and pcv grommet.

While I was working on it I installed my Mishimoto radiator also.

After completing I bled the coolant system, reset base idle and timing( was off before).

The car idles and runs out great, has excellent response but vtec is not kicking in.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Dayton

Is car actually reaching operating temp? If not this can affect vtec operation any check engine lights? And double check all connectors to make sure you didn't push a pin out,and that all connectors are plugged in properly.

Not really sure what it was,
Must of still had a air pocket as it took quite a bit to top the coolant off after yesterdays drive.
I checked all the connections and made sure it was up to full temp.
Pulls like mad again, vtec working as it should.

Thanks
Dayton

There was an air bubble in the cooling system near the coolant temp sensor.

Oil was good, I'm pretty sure it was the air pocket in the coolant causing the issue.
