Upgrade those front brakes and Get stiffer springs up front since the motor weighs alot more than a D series engine does. Ive also heard that they get alot of wheel hop when racing any one care to back that up?

ive heard they get a little less wheel hop because the motor sits further back so the weight is almost inline with the wheels. my swap isnt done get yet so i cant back that up. as far as upgrading the brakes goes, its not 100% necessary its just like having one more person in the car basically, do some weight reduction or dont drive with people hehe. if youre gonna road race then yes upgrade the brakes but its not a must for everyday driving. just my two cents

o god, here we go, DO A SEARCH!! h series motors weigh a maximum of like 40 lbs more...if that, i remember reading a thread on here months ago, where a guy had a b16, d16, b18c, and an h22, he weighed them all and the weights of the motors were all very close to each other. wheel hop shouldnt be a problem because you're going to be using after market mounts (HCP, Hasport, or Place Racing) (my advice, go with hcp, those mounts place the motor as close to the firewall without hitting it, meaning it reduces stress on the axles) and after market mounts usually have urethane inserts. wheel hop shouldnt be a problem. stiffer springs, maybe a good idea, although i havent heard of people having trouble with running civic spring rates, but if you feel the need to, go with integra spring rates, suspension will bolt up the same, so no problem there. upgrade front breaks, again this is up to you. i would wait until you test drive the car after the swap is done, and you make the call. i did a lot of research on this swap and concluded that i wanted to do it. but **** happens so it didnt work out...good luck with yours, and if you have any more q's, pm me

Look in the hybrid forum there is a link to h22 into civic swap with everything you will EVER need to know. I would recomend this swap because its fairly inexpensive compared to a type R or K20 swap. you get more torque than any b series engine will give you stock. only about 60-70 pounds heavier than a b series engine. i have it and i love it.

its not incorect cuz he didnt ask for what is needed, he asked for tips
rear disc conversion gives u more stopping power for that 200 hp (180 or something to the wheels)

Re: h22 swap for eg6 (tofu9000)
i have been running on drums on my H22 Civic and my car has been pulled down from 130+ (not sure what speed was off the speedo) lots of times. Sure the front discs get a bit hot, but nothing too major. I would be more concerned with proper spring rates, and doing the clutch, timing belt, and balancer belt when the engine is out of the car cuz its loads easier to do. To my knowledge I dont think u can pull the tranny off the engine in the car, so doing the clutch b4 reaps good divedends down the road.
btw here is some reading on H22 swap. THis isnt part of the H22 swap post on here but its something i made quite some time ago on hybridforums.

Re: h22 swap for eg6 (JDMH22HATCH)
thanks for all the advise - im glad we didnt get into a heated discussion about this motors better than that motor.... anyways - i was just debating on either going b20 w/ gsr head matted to a cable tyranny ( yes- i want to convert my hydro back to cable)(i cant get enuf of them 1 series tranny's) or just a straight up h22 swap....
since you guys are all here - any feedback on gearing between the h tranny and b-series?
power band between a h22 and a high strung gsr?
thanks for all your help- i really appreciate it. james///

ifi had an eg6 i sure wouldnt swap it.
but i bet you dont really have one....i bet you got an eh2 or eh3....
and my h22 hatch beats the snot out of gsr civics in all gears, and has a much broader powerband.

Stock breaks work fine starting out on EG w/ h22 swap, I know from expierence. I still have not upgraded my breaks and it stops resonably fine.
I do recomend upgrading axles though, hasport makes a axle for H swap and it works real well.
H swap takes no longer than any other swap (B, D) and there is no banging out anything with the right mount kit. The only thing done "Custom Fab" is cutting out the passenger side mount.
You can tell a difference in weight distrabution and handling though. And IMHO it is much safer going with a B series swap as for it is more rounded in all areas. Yet H swaps do produce and maintiain more power to weigh ratio than most B swaps I have ever seen.
If its broad power you desire, go with the H. Good luck and dont skip corners

Re: h22 swap for eg6 (hellbound619)
I did my h22 swap in my 5th gen coupe and I love it...I wanted a motor that could actually make a difference in my car rather than a b16 or b18, that wouldn't make the car a greater improvement. The h22, unlike in the past, didn't get much attention from the industry for aftermarket parts but as of a year or more ago more parts have been available out there for the h series motors.
One word of advice, if you go through with the h22 swap do everything right the first time, ex. proper quality axles, mounts, brakes, suspension, etc...it makes the car alot more fun and hassle free to drive.
Good Luck!

couldnt you just go with the OBD1 hydro tranny H22 to avoid converting and custom fabricating the cable trans?
i see everyone with the H-series do the cable conversion, why hasnt anyone used the plain old hydro?
http://www.totaljdm.com has a special on this
