Default h22 swap in a 98 civic hb

Whats the best way to put in motor? from the top or bottom?

I did mine from the top. Wasnt that hard.

It doesnt fit from the top, the crank pully hits the frame

yes it does. You just have to angle the motor, lower it, angle some more.... lower it. Move it a bit left and right. Be careful with the TPS though as you're doing it. Its really common to break it when you're finessing the motor into the bay.

The easiest way I have been doing is, by the bottom, no need to take anything off the motor, just remove the radiator and coil springs and fork from the suspension. Lift the car up with jacks and set it down ontop of the motor. Keep the mounts on when you set the car down, on it. Then bolt the the driver and passenger side mounts in snuggly and rock the motor forward to get the back mount in. You have to have the spring out to get the axles in . I think that is the easiest way. Thats somewhat the same way honda does it also.
