H22 seems slow...HELP
Hey guys I recently bought an EK with a 96' JDM H22, lsd tranny, msd 6a with blaster coil, NGK plugs, nology wires, B&M FPR set at 40 psi WOT, AEM CAI, dc sports 4-2-1 headers, 2.5 inch piping with hi flow cat and magnaflow muffler and I believe a stock P13. Now I know it's running a stock p13, but regardless with the minor bolt-ons done this car should be pulling alot harder than it is. It seems like VTEC isnt hitting hard enough and it seems I'm lacking alot of top end. Everythings hooked up including the EGR and secondary butterflies are functional I believe. I checked the plugs and they are perfect. No carbon deposits and no lean mixture signs. I had an EG b4 with a JDM h22 w/ lsd, intake, exhaust and a p28 w/ skunk2 program and it pulled 1000 times harder than my EK. My EK doesn't even feel like it has an H22 feels more like a SIR or GSR. I don't really feel the torque. Should I be dumping more than 40 psi of fuel, could it be the timing has been retarded, low compression motor maybe? I'm not sure what it is. Do you guys think that if I grab a p28 and get it tuned it will solve the problem?

I had the same problem with my 96 ek, I said the same thing. I'm willing to bet you money, vtec is not wired correctly, if it's not pulling hard and it still runs good(funny how it sounds but it makes sense) then your vtec is not working. Mine was wired incorrectly, you just have to find out why.

Is the secondary wired up right? and also any CEL lights? usually CEL light(s) will make your car run on limp mode. when i swapped a b18c into my civic my cars secondary wasnt wired up and it wasnt even pulling as hard until i got that fixed.

Re: (Braco11)
Upon further investigation I noticed the secondary butterflies are not opening upon throttle, but everything seems to be hooked up. do they open at a certain RPM. Also timing seems to be correct and I have no CEL. Also Car redlines at 8000 rpm.
I've nver taken it past 7800 tough. Anyone thing it's just because it's runnnig a stock program or could it be the butterflies.

the IABS have nothing to do with it. Also, they're open at low rpm and close at high rpm.
