H22 OBD2a Wiring - ECU - Random Questions
I swapped my 98 dx hatch with a (according to serial) h22a 98 sir accord red top.
Anyways, i am taking my engine out in a month or 2 to spray my engine bay, wiretuck, re-route some plumbing, and shrink wrap exposed wires for some prettyness.
Current Setup:
Harness- 96-98 DX
ECU- P28 Unknown Chip w/ Unknown Features
O2 Sensor- Sensor must be eliminated with chip
Questions are...
(What Chipping Service)
I have a virgin P28 that i am going to send out and get chipped, but i don't really know who i should send it to for the service. I would like to not have to touch this ex harness besides for extending wires purposes. (I do not wish to re-wire it)... I currently have no O2 sensor on this set up, and from what i read... It's running in open loop and that is no good considering it is my DD and i would appreciate better gas mileage and overall running conditions.
(Wiring Questions)
I have a virgin 96-98 ex harness, according to the hybrid faq... All i need to do is extend my alternator harness. Like stated above, i would like to not splice anything... Just cut in order to extend... If i am incorrect and misread, please inform me of the correct things i need to do with the set up at hand.
(O2 Sensor) - Answered: OEM 4 Wire
What O2 sensor should i use?
(O2 Sensor Location)
I just ordered new piping, high flow cat, muffler, and 2 resonators... I am going to have to weld in an O2 bung if i need to place it other than the header. If so... Where should it go for best results? (I am doing a 2.5in collector mod)
I am asking these question's (possibly more) because when i do get ***** deep into redoing the wiring, engine bay, rebuilding the engine and trans, etc etc. I don't want to be caught off guard... Like to be prepared to the fullest.
Oh, the swap was bought with the harness already converted... So it will be my first time doing a h22 ek wiring. I do NOT wish to use the harness over because it is someones else's work. I like to do all my own work because i am capable, and i know it will be done correctly.

Re: H22 OBD2a Wiring - ECU - Random Questions
1) Is the P28 you want to chip OBD1 or OBD2?
2) You might have to cut and rewire the distributor plug.
3) Any OEM 4 wire O2 would be best if your using the P28.
4) OBD2 Uses a O2 before and after the cat.

1) Is the P28 you want to chip OBD1 or OBD2?
--- The p28 in the car now is obd1, but im using the obd2a.obd1 step down. The spare p28 i have is also a obd1 that i plan on getting chipped but with the o2 sensor enabled. Since the p.o of this current ecu had no clue what he was doing.
2) You might have to cut and rewire the distributor plug.
--- I have an obd2a dizzy plug on if i remember correctly so it should be pnp with the 96-98 ex harness i have.
3) Any OEM 4 wire O2 would be best if your using the P28.
--- Then i shall purchase one :D
4) OBD2 Uses a O2 before and after the cat.
--- Since i am running obd1 ecu, i think it's just before the cat. I was asking more of the placement. Should it be on the header or bung out right before the cat begins.

If you cannont find a local tuner to chip your ecu, then check out http://www.phearable.net/ i had a P28 basemap for my H22 from them.
I just run my O2 on the collector on the header, but anywhere before the cat will work.
