h22 into eg fab questions
i have a 93 eg that ive been planning on doing a h22 swap on so ive been researching and looking into this and other forums. i even read poison's swap faq: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=650329, which covers a lot and very helpful but i still have a couple questions that anybody can answer who is h22 wise or has done one into an eg.
i know i'll have to cut holes for the shifer assm and cables but,
1. Is it true that I may have to relocate a few things on the firewall, such as the brake m. cylinder?
2. Would I have to do some cutting around to make room for the crank pulley?
and
3. If I use the Hasport mounts, do i cut off the tranny bracket in the bay? I heard their mounts for this swap already include the custom bracket needed
helpful responses are appreciated. everyone here has helped me so much, so thanks

You could look into h2b and sell h22 trans for the adaptor. Unless you don't have any b series items.
You wouldn't have to cut anything for shift linkage.
1 not Brake mc maybe IACV or something
2 Don't think so with a straight H22 swap
3 not completely sure. I know skunked had cut his pass. side car mount for the H22 tranny mount so probably yeah

do you think you could confirm that? it'd be nice if i had more time to do an h2b but im just throwing in the whole h22 and scrappin the d motor

the H22 in an EG is not too complicated. the axles are custom, the mounts depending on which ones you use you will have to cut off part of the trans bracket, or remove it completely. depends on which mount kit you use. the linkage needs a hole to be cut to make it fit. nothing needs to be relocated. the crank pulley fits fine with no mods. now if it was in a Crx thats a different story!!

Re: h22 into eg fab questions (h22crxpwr)
thanx man. i read here earlier http://www.automotiveforums.co....html that if using HCP mounts only part of the bracket needs cut off but using Hasport the entire bracket needs cuts off because they include their custom one. so other than that and the holes for the shifter, that's really all the cutting i need then? nice

personally i don't really like the Hasport mounts. personal preference. if you want i can get you a good deal on all the parts needed. PM me for more details. good luck !

Re: h22 into eg fab questions (h22crxpwr)
With our kit we designed it to use the factory pass. side chassis bracket with modification. It's even PS compatible
We also put the engine where it needs to be (off the ground)
I love my H22 DC with a 2" drop or more and I have no worries of ever hittin the pan or header

all you have to do to the pass mount is drill a new hole like an inch or so closer to the inside... Super Duper Easy.... **** hasport mounts

Re: h22 into eg fab questions (RunninEg6)
There are a couple of ways of doing this swap and it really depends on what mount kit you go with. Some kits are more simple then other's depending what you define as "simple"... With the Avid mount kit you only have to re-drill a new pilot hole on the passenger side. With other's on the market you have to cut it completely off. It's really up to you on what kit you decide to go with and what works for you. I haven't really heard of any kit that you have relocate your master cyclinder nor notch anything for the crank pulley.

Re: h22 into eg fab questions (RunninEg6)
1. The only thing I moved on mine were the fuel filter and purge valve, but that's easy. Hardly counts as moving them
2. Not usually, although a few kits will put it very close to rail.
3. If you use HASport mounts, (at least the EGH2 set) you have to completely remove the trans bracket. It comes with a new mount that bolts in place.
You don't need a new fuel pump for a stock H22 unless yours is not performing well.

I have used hasport mounts and HCP (the ESP mounts look like a replica of the hcp ones to me). I like the hasport MUCH better. Plus I have never blown them apart and had to warranty them the way i did with the hcp rear mount. The mount was literally torn through the metal with a stock h22.
